General Administration

The supreme authority of the Congregation is exercised, in a ordinary way, by a General Superior helped by a Council, and in extraordinary and collegial way by a General Chapter.

The General Superior is elected by the General Chapter for six years, with the possibility of re-election for other period of six years.

The General Superior, helped by his Council, governs and encourages the Congregation to carry on its mission in the Church.

Faithful to the charisma of Fr. Dehon and according to the different situations, it offers a service of communion in a same spirit in different activities.

With the purpose of fulfilling this mission, the General visits all the religious of the Congregation in their ministries in different parts of the world where they are working, giving orientations, advise and making concrete decisions.

From Rome they undertake the ordinary work of administration and consultation.

The General Council is composed of at least four Councillors elected during the General Chapter.

Beside the Councillors, other collaborators assist the General Superior in his administration: the General Treasure, the General Secretary and Vice-General Secretary and the Procurator for the Holy See.
