It was a joyous day for the members of our Indian district to come together for the celebration of the deaconate ordination of our three brothers namely Bros. Harish Barigala, Martin Thevarakattu and Mary Babu Kota. These three brothers made their perpetual profession on 08th of December 2017 and today on 14th of January 2018. The celebration was held in the morning at 10.30 am in the small chapel of Dehon Prema Nilayam, Goranla. Theses three brothers were ordained as deacons by Rt. Rev. Bishop Bhagyaiah ‎Chinnabathini, bishop of Guntur. During his homily bishop told that “A person who is ordained as deacon serves on the altar of the Lord along with the bishop and the priests. He also he is annointed by the holy spirit to preach the word of God to all the faithful.” The bishop also said that the deacons should have strong conviction in their call to serve the Lord and his faithful inspite of all the struggles and difficult moments in their ministries.

After the Eucharist, Bro. Harish Kumar thanked all those who were helpful for this wonderful celebration. And finally our district superior, Fr. Mcqueen Winston Savio also thanked all from his part in the name of our district. The celebration came to an end with the cake cutting and with the delicious lunch in the garden. For this celebration there were 15 priests, 5 nuns, our SCJ theologians, postulants and minor seminarians and also 40 members of the faithful. The celebration added more joy with the presence of Fr. Martin Van Ooy, who is the founding father our Indian district and Fr. Thomas Cassidy. Thanks to Gorantla community especially Fr. Jesus Manuel for all the arrangements of this celebration. From the heart of newly ordained deacons:

“We would like to express our love and gratitude towards our congregation and each one of you ,this is our great desire to become priest and our diocanate experience was the first step of that . After the long time of waiting and preparation led us to be strong and dedicate our self totally to GOD and his people. Our diocanate experience was completely grace of God and his unconditional love towards to us . We felt GOD really want us to serve Him and his people . On this occasion dear fathers brothers and sisters we ask your prayers and support.”
