After successfully completing his theology studies in Freiburg, the young Sacred Heart religious is currently gaining a wide range of practical experience through a parish internship at the Holy Spirit Parish in Neustadt. His journey so far was recounted by Provincial Father Stefan Tertünte SCJ. You can read more about Brother Kisito here:

In his sermon, Bishop Teemu Sippo spoke about the tasks of a deacon, who receives a special gift of the Holy Spirit and who is “a servant for all, in the service of the Word, at the altar, and in love.” His mission is to encourage people and instruct them in the faith. Deacons are permitted to administer baptism, preside over weddings and funerals, lead liturgies of the Word, distribute Holy Communion, and give blessings.
The Finnish bishop found the Gospel reading chosen by Brother Kisito for the ordination Mass—the parable of the Good Samaritan—especially fitting for the occasion.
He ordained his young confrere through the laying on of hands and emphasized that this ordination is now “irrevocable.”
A Festive and Joyful Celebration
With a special project choir, numerous Sacred Heart priests, and a large congregation—including many people from Brother Kisito’s homeland, Cameroon—the liturgy was particularly festive and joyful.
At the end of the Mass, the newly ordained deacon thanked God for “the many people who have accompanied me up to this point.” He was moved that so many had traveled great distances to be there. He expressed special gratitude to the St. Pius Parish for their warm welcome and the many forms of support he had received during his internship: “From the beginning, I felt wanted, loved, and carried.”
He encouraged young people, especially the altar servers with whom he quickly became friends:
“I have a really cool job. You too—be brave and trust in God’s plan!”
Following the liturgy, a joyful celebration took place in front of the church, with a grand buffet prepared by parish members. For confreres, family, and close friends, a barbecue followed at the Sacred Heart Monastery in Neustadt.
