As part of the celebration of the centenary of the death of our Founder, the members of the General House have spent some intense days around the date of the birth of Father John Leo Dehon, March 14, 182 years ago.
We celebrated this feast which is very much our own, in simplicity, but with great depth.
On the evening of the 13th of March, we gathered in the Community Chapel in front of the Blessed Sacrament for the Vigil of Prayer for Dehonian Vocations. An intimate moment in front of Jesus present in the Eucharist in which the congregational ‘Sint Unum’ was felt. Each and every one of us has been called to carry out the will of the Father in our lives.
On Friday evening, again, all the members of the General House gathered around the altar of the Word and of the Eucharist, to celebrate together with the whole Congregation, the anniversary of the birth of our Founder. We gave thanks to God for his life given generously to God and to our neighbour.
We unite ourselves in this Dehonian Jubilee Year, giving our Yes to God, following the example of Fr. Dehon, who invites us to be ‘Prophets of Love and Servants of Reconciliation’, as written in our Constitutions.
