Bishop Adam Musiałek SCJ ordained two deacons from the Seminary in Stadniki who were surrounded in prayer during the event by their loved ones, invited guests and the sisters: Sisters of the Immaculate Heart of Mary from Moldova and the Albertine sisters from Mników.
The solemn Eucharistic liturgy in the parish church of the Sacred Heart of Jesus in Stadniki was concelebrated by a large number of priests from Poland and abroad, such as: Moldavia, Slovakia, the Netherlands and even Korea.
The rector of the seminary, Fr. Dariusz Salamon SCJ, acknowledged at the beginning of the Mass that this year’s ordination ceremony is part of the celebration of the 100th anniversary of Fr Leon Dehon’s death, and that ”the deacons to be ordained are a testimony that the charism of Father Founder is still valid and inspiring to join the path of consecrated life”.
Bishop Musiałek SCJ emphasised in his homily that people are thirsty for hope, love and the meaning of life, and only in God can the deepest questions of the human heart be answered. The modern world, which now offers many opportunities, can at the same time be very hurtful and this can be experienced on a daily basis: addictions or compulsive behaviour, broken families, lack of fathers, children without parents or street children. That is why, addressing those about to be ordained priests, he stressed ”you will be not only ministers of the sacraments, but above all witnesses of mercy, guides and doctors of souls and shepherds of hearts, because today, more than ever, the world needs shepherds with a heart like the Sacred Heart of Jesus”.
