Formed, Focused, and Future-Ready: SCJ Annual Assembly in the Philippines Strengthens Regional Direction
Guided by the theme “Formed, Focused, and Future-Ready: Implementing the Chapter for a Renewed SCJ Philippines Region,” the SCJ Philippines Regional Assembly, held from February 9 to 13, 2026, sought to translate vision into action for the life and mission of the Region.
Prayer and Exchange
The recent Annual Assembly of the SCJ Philippines Region marked a significant moment of renewal, discernment, and concrete planning as members reaffirmed their commitment to implementing the decisions of the 2024 Regional Chapter. Guided by the theme “Formed, Focused, and Future-Ready: Implementing the Chapter for a Renewed SCJ Philippines Region,” the Assembly sought to translate vision into action for the life and mission of the Region.
Rooted in prayer and reflection, the gathering began by grounding all discussions in the spiritual and charismatic foundations of the Congregation. Through recollection, common prayer, and personal sharing, members were led into deeper reflection on the Chapter’s call to renewal, fostering sincere dialogue and responsible discernment.
Looking Toward the Future
Community sharing and reports formed a central part of the Assembly. These exchanges encouraged honest reflection on present realities, strengths, and challenges, promoting transparency and communion. This process helped develop a shared understanding of the Region’s current situation and future direction.
Building on this awareness, the Assembly focused on planning concrete courses of action. Guided by the SEE–JUDGE–ACT method, the commissions worked collaboratively to analyze realities, discern them in the light of faith and the Constitutions, and propose practical programs rooted in Scripture, Dehonian spirituality, and the Rule of Life.
The proposed programs were presented in plenary sessions for dialogue and evaluation. Through collective discernment, the plans were refined and finalized before submission to the Regional Administration, expressing the shared responsibility of all members in implementing the Chapter’s vision. An important outcome of the Assembly was the strengthening and redefinition of the commissions. New officers were appointed, and clearer job descriptions were established to ensure accountability, continuity, and effective coordination, reflecting the Region’s commitment to sustainable leadership.
“Formed, Focused, and Future-Ready”
The Assembly also gave attention to long-term planning through the preparation of the annual calendar of activities, including formation programs, apostolic initiatives, community gatherings, and vacation schedules. This process aimed to balance mission, fraternity, and personal well-being.
A spirit of gratitude and encouragement marked the closing of the gathering, as words of appreciation were shared for the dedication and perseverance of members in their ministries. Overall, the Assembly embodied the vision of being formed, focused, and future-ready. More than a series of meetings, it was a communal journey of prayer, dialogue, and commitment, renewing the Region’s resolve to serve the Church and the people of God with clarity, fidelity, and hope.
