Earthquake in Venezuela: Update on our Communities and Coordination of Relief Efforts
On the day of Saint John the Baptist —a festivity deeply rooted in Venezuelan culture and of great national relevance—, the country was shaken by a strong earthquake that has severely affected a large part of its territory.
Fortunately, we have been able to contact our religious members and we confirm that everyone is well, having suffered only material damage in their respective communities. However, as communications are being restored, we are receiving news of a growing number of fatalities, injuries, and missing persons among the population.
In the face of this emergency, we are coordinating actions with the government team of the VEN Region to offer effective support.
Let us raise our prayers for the victims and for a prompt stabilization of the situation in a country that, for some time now, has been going through realities of much suffering. May Our Lady of Coromoto, patroness of Venezuela, intercede for these beloved people.
