Fr. Joseph Cempron Butling

Father Joseph Cempron Butling was born on November 27, 1979 and was 42 years old. He took his first vows on May 13, 2007 and was ordained priest on November 26, 2013.
He was currently living in Cagayan de Oro (Philippines). He belonged to the Province PHI.

Fr. Joseph Cempron Butlig was born on November 27, 1979 in Alicia, Bohol. After his graduation as Civil Engineer in 2002 and work some time in Cebu he joined the Congregation of the Priests of the Sacred Heart of Jesus (SCJ) in 2004 . His first religious profession was on May, 13, 2007 and his priesthood ordination on November 26, 2013.
His ministry as deacon was in San Isidro Labrador Parish in Dumalinao, Zamboanga del Sur, diocese of Pagadian, and his first assignment as assistant priest was in the same parish.
In 2015 he was transfer to the Sacred Heart Formation House, Aluba, Cagayan de Oro as a Regional Secretary and in 2018 He assumed also the task of Regional treasurer as well as community treasurer. In addition he was spiritual director in Kasanag Daughters Foundation, Inc. and SCJ Vocation Promoter besides the spiritual assistance given in various parishes and religious communities in the Archdiocese of Cagayan de Oro.
One motto of our charism is: “Ecce Venio”… “Here I am … I have come to do your will, my God” (Hb. 10:7). These words expressed his religious life until his final oblation on the First Friday of the Month dedicated to the Sacred Heart. He passed away on April first, 2022, 3 am in Chong Hua hospital in Cebu, the cause of death was Ewing Sarcoma Cancer.
