Called to live in community

Within the Church we are called
to follow Christ
and in the world
to be witnesses and servants
of the communion of people
in a fraternal community.

 

We freely become involved
in this community life
thanks to the gift of the Spirit.

 

We seek the inspiration and the model for this life
in the community of the disciples
united around the Lord,
and in the first Christian communities.

 

They devoted themselves to the apostles’ teaching and to fellowship,
to the breaking of the bread and the prayers. … All who believed
were together and had all things in common; they would sell their
possessions and goods and distribute the proceeds to all, as any had
need (Acts 2:42, 44-45).
