The BRE Province held an assembly from February 19-21, 2019, at the Provincial House in Recife. The annual meeting began with Adoration and the breviary. Then the Provincial Superior, Fr. Josemar di Lima, welcomed the confreres and invited them to live these days in the spirit of Sint Unum, which must continue in the community and the parish.

Young religious who are part of the BRE Province were welcomed after having studied in Taubaté, in the BSP Province. In addition, the letter from the Superior General, Fr. Carlos Luis Suárez Codorniú, and from the General Councilor Fr. Levi Ferreira dos Anjos, were read, inviting all the religious of the BRE Province to “enhance the life of the community as an essential place of our religious life”.

To help us reflect on the theme of fraternal life in community, Monsignor Severino Batista de France, OFM Cap, bishop emeritus of Nazaré da Mata, was invited to speak; he proposed important elements for living fraternity in the face of the challenges of today’s world.

The following days were dedicated to the presentation of the reports of the Treasurer and of the Provincial Superior, to which were added the reports of the various sectors of pastoral activity and of the various bodies of the Province.

At the end, the Provincial Superior, after having expressed his joy and satisfaction at the dynamism of the Province experienced in these days, presented the upcoming events that require our involvement. The BRE provincial assembly ended with Mass presided by Fr. Josemar de Lima.
