The apostolic mission of the Province of Spain is centered mainly on teaching, in the most diverse areas and fields. The oldest colleges are Colegio Padre Dehon in Novelda, founded in 1920, and Colegio Fray Luis de León, located in the center of Madrid, owned by the Province since 1948. The Province also has other colleges in Malaga, Puente la Reina, Venta de Baños, Alba de Tormes and Murcia.  Several confreres work in these educational centers., Toogether with the laity who work there, they contribute to the formation of hundreds of students, from infancy to youth, following the example and the charism of Father Dehon.

Besides the schools, the SCJs in Spain are also very involved in higher education with the University ESIC. It was founded in 1965 under the name of Escuela Superior de Ingenieros Comerciales (ESIC), aimed at training business and marketing professionals. Like all beginnings, the school had a simple and humble start. When it was founded, it was the first marketing school in Spain. It quickly gained notoriety and conditions to grow. In 1992 the new school started operating in Pozuelo, on the outskirts of Madrid. In 2006 it took on the name ESIC Business & Marketing School to better meet the challenge of internationalization, and in 2019 ESIC was recognized as a private university and renamed ESIC University.

ESIC, as a Higher Education institution, currently has the following areas of activity: Undergraduate (Business, Marketing, Communication, Advertising, International Trade and Digital Trade), Postgraduate, Corporate Education, Online Training, Professional Training Center, Publishing and Languages. In Spain it has centers in Madrid, Barcelona, Valencia, Seville, Zaragoza, Malaga, Pamplona, Bilbao and Granada. It is also present in Brazil, China and Colombia. It has strategic alliances with dozens of universities in more than 40 countries on all continents. ESIC serves more than 62,000 students of 80 nationalities.

Throughout its years of existence, ESIC has grown in every way. It is, without doubt an outstanding achievement of the Province of Spain and a national and international resource in the areas of business, communication and marketing.

Last September 21st the new Juan XXIII Campus was inaugurated in Madrid, in the presence of the Provincial Superior, Fr Juan José Arnaiz Ecker, the General Director of ESIC, Fr Eduardo Gómez Martín, and the President of the Autonomous Community of Madrid, Isabel Díaz Ayuso. The Campus has the highest certification for conservation of energy  It is built on 23,600 square meters and has 9,500 square meters of green areas, 40 classrooms of different typologies and an auditorium for 300 people.

This Campus is part of a dream that began more than 55 years ago in the classrooms of a high school in Madrid. It is a place for wholistic formation where  persons can develop all their capacities. It is not by chance that we have always striven to put the student at the center, to train him/her as a good worker, but also as a good professional. We want to build in Madrid a higher education hub that offers competitive, updated, modular and flexible training that responds to the challenges of business,” said Father Eduardo Gómez Martín at the inauguration ceremony of the Juan XXIII Campus.
