During these days, as is done annually, 15 formators met, to reflect the dehonian formation process of our young vocations, as well as to find common elements that help the different provincial realities of Brazil (BRE, BRM and BSP) to better develop the formation service.
Specifically on the 28th and 29th, the meeting had the advice of Fr. Fábio de Freitas Guimarães – Archdiocese of Rio de Janeiro. With all his formative background and consistent psychological training, he worked systematically and deeply on the theme of “Vocational Discernment and Admission Criteria”.
In his approach, considering especially the canonical guidelines and the formative dimensions, the advisor highlighted some important aspects. Among them, he emphasized the “interdisciplinarity” in Formation, to respond to the challenges of forming the new generations. That is, the integration between Formators, Spiritual Directors and Human Sciences Professionals is fundamental for the effectiveness of forming at this time in our history.
Finally, on the last day, in the morning, the religious formators defined some points of the annual agenda, in addition to the constitution of a working group that composes, based on the learning of the latest “Formation of Formators” (online and in-person), an outline of the “Admission Criteria common to the Brazilian Provinces”.
May the Sacred Heart of Jesus help all of us, dehonian formators, on this path of human-spiritual growth, to better serve the Church and the Congregation.
