On May 17-20, the first meeting of the General Financial Commission (GFC) was held in Rome. Rome was chosen as the location of the first meeting to allow dialogue and an exchange of ideas between the members of the GFC and the General Government. The choice of the members of the commission once again respected the criteria of continental representation and experience in the financial field. Each of the members currently serve as Treasuries in their Entities. The issues addressed in the spring session, as always, included the revision of the budget and discussion about the distribution of the General Aid Fund (FAG). A topic discussed with the General Government was the status of the intra-congregational aid text approved during the last General Chapter. The next meeting, usually held during the autumn session, will take place in November in the United States.
