The Southern Cone of America Provincial Network of Communicators Begins Operations
The Provincial Commission for Communication and Youth Ministry organized the first virtual gathering of communicators from the Dehonian Province of the Southern Cone of America, featuring representatives from Argentina, Chile, Uruguay, and Paraguay.
The meeting brought together 17 participants involved in the communication efforts of parishes, schools, communities, and various ministries across the Province. It provided an initial opportunity to get to know one another, share experiences, and begin brainstorming ways to strengthen a style of communication that reflects the life and mission of the new Province.
During the meeting, the work carried out so far by the Provincial Commission for Communication and Youth Ministry was presented, and the initial steps toward developing the province’s digital channels were shared.
One of the main challenges raised was moving toward a form of communication that does not stop at simply announcing activities, but is capable of communicating processes, telling stories, fostering encounters, and making visible the richness of the mission being carried out across the four countries.
The diversity of experiences represented made it clear that significant communication work is already happening within the various communities and ministries. The challenge now is to start networking, encouraging the exchange of content, experiences, photographs, testimonies, and initiatives that help reveal the face of a Province that is diverse yet united by a shared spirituality and mission.
Participants also discussed the upcoming launch of the Province’s official Instagram presence and the need to establish common criteria to protect the identity, quality, and pastoral purpose of what is shared. This first gathering marks the launch of the Provincial Network of Communicators, an open space for anyone involved in communication across the various Dehonian presences in the Southern Cone.
The initiative stems from a simple yet essential conviction: communicating is also a way of evangelizing.
That is why, rather than merely creating new social media channels, the goal is to build a network of people who can share, collaborate, and highlight how the Sacred Heart of Jesus continues to inspire life and mission in Argentina, Chile, Uruguay, and Paraguay.
The Commission will continue to guide this process and create new opportunities for gathering and training for those serving in this role across the Province’s various ministries.
