Every two years African entities hold an intensive one month formation course in preparation for the final vows. 13 confreres from South Africa, Angola, Zambia, Lesotho, DRC and Madagascar.

This formation was held in the region of Madagascar from the 18 June- 15 july 2023. The program was divided into three weeks, the theme of the formation program was: “Called to be one in a transforming world”. Different topic or themes were chosen for each of the weeks we were there. The topics we dealt with were: canon law and religious life, Bible and religious life, Fraternal life in community, Social doctrine of the church and Dehonian spirituality, the third week we had a retreat directed by Fr Joseph Rajanatsoa. The fourth week of the formation was a week of visiting and seeing whrere our cofreres are working different missions around Madagascar.

The spirit of internationality reigned amongst the confreres as each and everyone shared their cultural and religious experience, most importantly we shared our desiren to continue following the footsteps of Fr Dehon.

The experience we had in Madagascar will indeed last for a lifetime. We are thankful to the region of Madagascar for welcoming us and preparing a wonderful and fruitful formation session for us.
