On the Feast of the Presentation of the Lord, February 20, 2020, 15 novices professed their first vows in Brazil. They represent the Southern Brazilian Province (BRM), Brazil – Sao Paulo (BSP) and the Venezuelan Region (VEN). The celebration took place in the Chapel of the Novitiate of Our Lady of Fatima in Jaraguá do sul (SC). Fr. Gilberto Bonato Xavier, SCJ, provincial superior of BRM, presided over the celebration, together with Fr. Ronilto Souza de Araújo, SCJ, provincial superior of BSP, and Fr. Alexander Manuel Quintero, SCJ, delegate of the regional superior of VEN. They were joined by other Dehonians, lay people and family members of the newly professed.

The homily reflected on three aspects of the Gospel that are also a part of the Dehonian life: a constant search for God’s will, the oblative charism inspired by Fr. Dehon that leads us to the Heart of Jesus, and the very being of the Dehonian Family, highlighted with the welcome of the newly professed in the Dehonian family.
