Hans Küng's death at the age of 93 years old has stirred up more than 50 years of theological dialectics and close confrontations between supporters of the continuity of the innovative spirit of the Second Vatican Council and those who, fearing doctrinal overflows, tried to channel the processes in the wake of the tradition of control of the Roman dicasteries.
