Martino Capelli and his consecration to Our Lady of Sorrows

The Venerable Servant of God Martino Capelli will be beatified in Bologna (Italy) on September 27, 2026. In order to make him better known through his writings, we will share twice a month, until the day of his beatification, an extract from his spiritual writings, which will soon be republished in several languages.

“I implore You, O my Mother, to be a Mother to me, to lead me along the way of the Heart of Jesus, to make me strong in soul and body, a zealous and holy missionary. One day then, receive me into Holy Paradise.” (Consecration of my whole self to the Virgin of Sorrows, Bologna, 27.03.1931)

Marian Motherhood as the Way to the Heart of Jesus – Martino does not view Mary as an end in herself, but as the “Mother” who leads the way. His plea for her to guide him shows a profound humility: he recognizes that he cannot reach the holiness of the Heart of Jesus through his own strength alone.
