Martino Capelli and his total abandonment to the Sorrowful Mother
"For Your love, I accept all... even death, when, where, and how Jesus and You desire it." (1931)
The Venerable Servant of God Martino Capelli will be beatified in Bologna (Italy) on September 27, 2026. In this second publication of an excerpt from his spiritual writings, we read his words of total abandonment to Our Lady of Sorrows:
“To You, Mother of Sorrows, I give my whole self: […] For Your love, I accept all that shall please Jesus and You, even death, when, where, and how Jesus and You desire it.” (Consecration to Mary of Sorrows, 15.09.1931)
Unconditional Acceptance of the Divine Will
The gift of his “whole self” to accept whatever pleases Jesus and Mary—”when, where, and how”—testifies to a total abandonment. This is the pure essence of the Dehonian Ecce Venio: a readiness without reserve that includes the anticipatory acceptance of death.
