CRACOW, POLAND 2016
“Dear young people, we did not come into the world to ‘vegetate’”
In 2016, Poland will host WYD again. The theme is: “Blessed are the merciful, for they shall obtain mercy”. In the land of Saint John Paul II and Saint Faustina Kowalska, Pope Francis prays with more than 1.5 million young people. On Vespers, at the Campus Misericordiae in Krakow, on July 30, Francis speaks with young people, which he defines as “an opportunity for the future”, and urges them to have the “courage” to teach adults “that it is easier build bridges than build walls! The Pope launches the challenge: “Today, Jesus, who is the way, is calling you – to you… to you… [points to each one] – to leave your mark in history. He, who is life, invites you to leave a mark that fills your story and that of many others with life. He, who is the truth, invites you to leave the roads of separation, of division, of meaninglessness. Do you accept? [Yes!!] Do you accept? [Yea!!!]”.
