On October 31 and November 1 the young Dehonians of Argentina and Uruguay organized their first Virtual Mission. More than 50 missionaries registered, some even from other ecclesial movements, since the call was also open to those who wanted to go on mission. As for those visited, more than 100 families joined in.

The motivation for this mission was expressed by the young people themselves with these words: “Because of the pandemic, our communities were not having a good time after so much confinement, isolation and alienation. Our restless and missionary heart urged us to go beyond the borders, to want to bring God’s love to everyone.

To make the meetings with the families more concrete, the missionaries made group video calls with the families through WhatsApp.

At the end of the Mission, the young people evaluated that: “We were not able to be face to face as we are used to do, but the objective was the same: to announce the joy of the Gospel and to bring a message of encouragement and hope. We are convinced that social networks and the Internet represent a great opportunity to bring the testimony of our faith to the digital world. We are called to evangelize this digital continent.
